• SB 837 — statutory personhood — Public Chapter 781; signed and effective April 23, 2026, excluding AI and machines from the Code’s general person definition.
• TN S 1700 — AI regulation study — signed and effective May 22, 2026 as Public Chapter 1082; requires a TACIR study. Adopted amendments replaced the CHAT restrictions and removed the reporting deadline.
