Editorial guidance for maintaining People in AI and Law and its profiles.

How people are selected

Profiles are selected for a substantial, documented contribution specifically to AI law, legal practice or regulation: a sustained body of relevant work, or a significant role in shaping a law, case or regulatory framework. Inclusion is not an endorsement or a ranking. The directory is selective and will expand as further profiles are researched.

The scope includes legislators, regulators, academics, practitioners, policy researchers, philosophers and commentators who meet that test. General prominence in technology or occasional comments about AI do not by themselves qualify someone for a profile. A person's geographical focus is described through their work and the jurisdictions involved.

Profiles distinguish works by the person from reporting about them, identify policy proposals as proposals, and link legal outcomes to primary records. Sources and dated factual detail are on the individual profiles. News items link to the relevant daily digest when the wiki has covered the event.

Maintaining profiles

Use one canonical page per person. Verify roles, publications and relevant contributions against accessible primary sources. Cite factual prose inline, distinguish scholarship and proposed reforms from current law, and label institutional coverage and interviews clearly. Include selected works, dated coverage, related articles and one functional References section.

Maintaining the directory

Keep the public directory compact: a short introduction, current profile count, and surname-ordered rows with a linked name, plain-text contribution labels and a short description. Maintain the responsive layout and shared navigation. Keep selection guidance on this editorial page; do not restore the former contribution or subject indexes to the directory. Profile navigation should link to the directory without removed section anchors.
