Enacted laws

• SB 1546 (2026) — AI companions — Chapter 85, Oregon Laws 2026. Operators must disclose when users are interacting with artificial output in covered circumstances, adopt a protocol addressing suicidal or self-harm ideation, apply added safeguards for known or suspected minors, and publish annual referral reports. The law provides a private civil action for an injured user.
• HB 2748 (2025) — nursing titles used by AI. Chapter 378, Oregon Laws 2025, prohibits a nonhuman entity, expressly including an AI-powered agent, from using specified nursing titles or abbreviations. It is codified at ORS 678.027.
